VSeven MP4 Converter is a small and free application that is able to convert video files among different formats. It is primarily focused on MP4 files; however, it actually supports converting from and to the most widely used video file types, such as 3GP, WMV, MOV, AVI, DIVX, MPG/MPEG, FLV, MKV, and VOB. Besides, it is capable of converting a number of videos simultaneously.
The conversion process is quite straightforward. From the program's compact interface, all you need to do is select the video files you want to encode, set a destination folder and output format. Beside the format list, you have six video quality presets to choose from, ranging from very low to very high. Once you've set that, you can start converting your videos.
I tried with a couple of 5-minute MP4 files of average quality, and the program encoded them all in a matter of seconds. The resulting videos preserved their original quality, and the output was overall satisfactory. Then I tried converting a bigger AVI file into MP4, and again, the program did its job quite fast and well. It's important to point out that this is a very basic, to-the-point converter; it doesn't provide any extra features such as video editing, previewing, or further customization options. But for those who simply need to convert a few videos once in a while without much tweaking, an application like this should suffice.
